WHY LEARN VEDANTA: Big Questions of My Life

Dear All

We are now living at the beginning of the 21st century.The age of globalization as well as the age of Technological Revolution. Can we look at this time from another perspective. The age of degeneration.The age of humiliation.The age of declaring self superiority.The age of lust.The age of annihilated morality.

The present happenings all around the world are themselves self exemplary.People are starving for food.Selling their children for food.Selling their daughters and wives for money .One killing people in the name of community without any reason or with some deeply ingrained reason.Is this what they were taught long time back.

When I started looking back to find out the reason of such moral degeneration ,I discovered some very interesting facts .But this might not be the real place to share those facts which laid the road to perdition.

Any way One basic reason that I would like to share with you people is the lack of RIGHTEOUSNESS. A strong character can only help a person to bring back his righteousness.But Alas present system of education is producing a great amount of hindrance for making a righteous character.Most importantly I found a perplexing reason behind this situation.It is our apathy towards our heritage and indigenous culture. Today children are encouraged to learn mastering computer.Instead a little introduction of character building philosophy from our ancient heritage could have become much more interesting and could have become much more helpful for our young Guns.As we are allowing a distance to make in between our children and our culture ,we are slowly but surely approaching towards the destruction.This is high time that we must start working on putting the things back on the track so that we can realize the word of the Great Visionary NOBLE Laureate Rabindranath Tagore as he said in his poem"INDIA WILL ONCE AGAIN TRIUMPH WITH HER SUPERIORITY IN THE STAGE OF THE WHOLE WORLD".

This is one small steps towards the true realization of the Poet and the Swamiji Himself.

Many thousand years ago the saints from this sacred land discovered many truth about human value and life. They compiled it together for us. But due to the sense of self supremacy of contemporary Brahmins it was left confined inside a very small circle of learned people. But it was intended to the common ordinary people around the world. As we all know that the truth is for everyone as it is eternal.

We need to bring out the essence of Vedanta and spread the fragrance among the every corner of the human world.This is a small step to decode the encrypted knowledge or message whatever you say out of the box and make it available for those who are very much lost in the midst of their daily responsibility. Thanks to the Vedanta Asiatic Society to take a wholesome effort in realizing our dream .

Big Questions of My Life

Today morning I was thinking about so many brain storming philosophical question.So I am putting them in the blog so that any one from the viewer can answer my curiosity.

Lets Begin.

1. What is God?

2. What is Religion?

3. What is atma?

4.What is death?

5.Can we clarify each death according to the law of karma?

6. According to Vedanta what should I do against the perpetrator of crime?

7. What is Adwaita?

8. What is singularity of god?

9. How can Vedanta bring back righteousness?

10.What are Upanishads?

11.How can you justify the Sanyas?Don't you think it is against the rule of nature?

12.What is the philosophical flaw in all the world religion that dictate people of that faith to kill people who follow other different faith?

13. Can any religion justify killing and mutilation of innocent people in the name of religion?

14. What is the color of blood?

15. What is the color of Atma(Spirit)?

16. What is multitude of the path to spiritual enrichment ?Can it be really realized?

17. Why people consider that their way to god is the best?

18.With the previous question it comes naturally that how can they judge a best way of spiritual enrichment in a single birth?

19. Without learning about others voice how can oneself claim that his way is best to reach the supreme godhood?

20. Once I read in a very well known educational web site that The God actually created people of certain community to suffer ultimate subjugation and severe humiliation. The person of the superior community also mentioned that in the way to make the whole world belief that Their god is the only god in the universe,They can flow the river of blood and surprisingly the women of the inferior community should be taken as baby producer machine for the superior community. Now my question is why in every subjugation in the history of the entire world the women were those who had been the primary target?By any means. Do every religion of the world permit the subjugation and possession of women forcefully ?Or is it an age old tradition of humiliating a respective culture or civilization or community at the grass root level.

21.With the wake of the previous question can I infer that in every society specifically in every world religion ,women have the least most regard and respect ? Do they consider women as the matter of sexual exploitation ?

My list of questions are getting bigger and bigger .But I have lot many like that. But for now I guess it is sufficient to get the answer of all . My dear friends ,Please join me to solve the toughest puzzle of life so that we can make the life of every single living human being a little more happier and sweeter that ever.

IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING VEDANTA________Editors View

As we can't live without food ,water and air .Similarly our character can not be built perfectly without Truth,Moral Incorruptibility and virtue.

My mom says respect nature and nature will help you to grow.Nature is the source of our minimum requirement of livelihood.Nature provides food,nature provides air and water.But are we respecting nature in the same manner.

The answer is negative. The result is in front of us. Very much fresh.The memory of Tsunami and Earth Quake around the world are still very much lively.How can one forget the devastation of Cyclone that hit North America or the Earthquake that shook China or Burma or POK.

Similarly if we disregard the truth and virtue and the basic quality and building blocks of the characters ,they are sure to bounce back and hit a very strong punch on our life.The example are in front of our eyes.

A female pimp always indulge others male customers to abuse a newly hoodwinked and falsely recruited girl sexually by force. In spite of being a woman she failed to observe the tribulation and agony of the teenage girl who were forced to take the sex business as a profession.And don't forget those men who have their own children ,wife often exploit other innocent girl sexually . WHY?

Some one was hit badly on the road bleeding and crying helpless.Many people are strolling around with curious eyes.But no one have the guts to come forward and help that fellow.They forget their responsibility even if they see their very keen are the victim of the situation. WHY?

Many Middle class people used to drink liquor regularly
when they have very little savings for their children and other family members to survive. Wasting of precious economic resources hinder the property of his family .Why?

Generally we can find thousands of instances in our daily life where we use any unethical or illegal means to achieve the goal of life that we desire.Why?

We lost our sensibility.We deny our responsibility to every individual as well as to the whole society.We often visit five starred party with lots of champagne ,wine and waste lots of food there.But we can hardly notice that at the outside of the hotel's bin, how many hungry stomach are waiting for the waste to satisfy their hunger(including the stray dogs).Why?

We used to keep our seat in the bus where many aged people
are standing .Why?(There might be some exception but the overall picture is very much same as discussed)

Look into your self. You are no saint. We have problem within our self.How can we think of creating a whole new society without a small particle of dust.First clean your self.

Then Look outside.

Clean your entire locality.

I have little acquaintance with the Mobile cellular architecture. My mission is to spread the truth and virtue that were long time back discovered by ancient saints. I want to divide the whole world into several smaller cluster and pick a single one from that cluster.Let them find and grasp the inner essence of the truth and virtue which are indeed timeless and eternal.After their assimilation of the virtue let them spread the message of knowledge across the globe .It is not that much easy as I proposed .But I believe there is no difficult thing that is impossible with the help of Gog.The supreme divinity.I feel that the God will always help those who never detract from the eternal truth.
Lets begin the drive from a single house hold.Make one strong person who can give shelter to the millions.

Today we need people like Swami Vivekananda,Subhash Bose,and our beloved Rash Behari Bose .We need people like Aurobingdo Ghose and Ramakrishna. We want savior who will come and stop all the sin .

The point that I am going to make now might hurt some one or some person might feel very negatively.But frankly speaking to you..I can't help myself for restraining myself from writing this. Hope you will pardon me.

During the darkest night I often feel very much pessimistic and very much helpless. Looking at the picture of the scattered blood every where I forget that I borne as a human being. My eyes filled with tears.I can't imagine that human value can fall up to that low level. I suffer severe insomnia.I cant find a single ray of hope coming out of the dark veil of ignorance upon the entire human kind.

Then I listen a deep voice coming from a place far away.I listen Swamiji is saying UTTISTHATA JAGRATA.
I can imagine his voice saying
"If you see the dark night,then one thing is sure that soon you will see the ray of first sun of a NEW DAWN."

I wrote these many words to you so that you can help me to sleep peacefully & I can leave my sleeping pills .

Please help Me.

Be wise and don't hesitate to share your views with me . It will be my pleasure to discuss on a same platform.

Vedanta In a Nutshell

What Vedanta Teaches

In the highest sense, Vedanta means knowledge of God or the Absolute Reality, as recorded in the Upanishads, the final section of the Vedas. This knowledge is not acquired by education, nor by adherence to scripture. Instead, Vedanta declares that it is the goal and birthright of every individual to obtain this knowledge through direct experience.

To reach this goal, Vedanta gives us principles which can guide us in our approach to life, in affirming that

The universe is a manifestation of one Spiritual Reality.

Within each person this Divine Essence is at the core of his or her innermost being.

Thus human life becomes an opportunity to unfold and manifest this Divinity from within.

All religions are valid paths which can lead one to the realization of these truths.

Why Vedanta Is Practical

Because they are based on Truth, which we can all experience, learning to live according to the principles of Vedanta might be considered the core and essence of practical Vedanta.

When we try to live according to these teachings, they color our approach to life.

Thinking that the world is a manifestation of divinity, for example, can awaken within us a reverence and respect for Mother Earth and her resources. Similarly, if my own true nature is divine, the same divinity that is within you, then how I relate to you is transformed. The more we come to see the divinity within ourselves and others, the less important our apparent, or outwardly visible, differences become.

Never let anyone say to you, "I can have the experience of my own divine nature, but you cannot." This notion that some can realize these Truths, and not all, cannot be! Being honest, we know it takes time -- often lifetimes. But it is possible for each of us. More than just possible. According to Vedanta, to realize our own divinity is our highest purpose in life.

Making Vedanta a Transforming Force in Our Life

We all begin by facing the same challenge: How do we make the these ideals genuine forces in our lives? We feel the truth of the teachings, and wish to build our life around them. However, as we encounter the demands of the world around us, we often find there is a gap between our ideal and how well we can apply it. Our sincerity is great, but our responses are not the ones we are aiming toward.

Learning to apply the principles of Vedanta in our daily life is partly a function of our spiritual growth. The more we realize the Truths illustrated in Vedantic teachings, the more these serve as our natural frame of reference.

We can, however, assist in this process by developing a lifestyle which reinforces the ideals of Vedanta -- driving a wedge, so to speak, to loosen the hold of our old thoughts and habits.

Some ways to do to begin driving your wedge include: regular spiritual practices, studying the lives of saints and holy persons, reading spiritual texts, and talking with fellow aspirants.

Significance of Swami Vivekanada's Message

Just as his master, Sri Ramkrishna had affirmed that each of the world's religious traditions offered true and valued paths for spiritual growth and realization, Swamiji held Vedanta as the foundation and uniting focus behind any spiritual effort. By applying the universal principles of Vedanta to one's own circumstance, one could become not only a better Christian, a better Jew, a better Hindu, and so forth, but a better person in every respect.
Just as there is no one true religion which everyone must follow, neither is there one spiritual practice which is right for all. In the summary given above, Swami Vivekananda tells us we may use our natural tendencies to reach the Goal. He refers to what is called The Four Yogas, four broad highways of spiritual practice which address our need for physical activity (Karma Yoga), emotional expression (Bhakti Yoga), inquiry or knowledge (Jnana Yoga), and mental control (Raja Yoga).
